Summary of program and its objectives:

Sumner House offers quality care and friendship for older people in a warm and welcoming environment. The house provides 43 beds all which have individual bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, televisions, phone connection and internet providing residents with independence and autonomy.

We are currently seeking reliable and empathetic individuals with strong communication skills along with a genuine interest in working with older people to be involved in one on one and group socialisation activities with our residents.

Main responsibilities of the role

The purpose of this Volunteer position is to assist residents of Sumner House by providing on going companionship and supporting them at socialisation and lifestyle activities such as walking groups, barbeques board games and discussion groups.

The Brotherhood’s work is supported by the efforts of volunteers who wish to help people build a better life for themselves, their families and their community. Without volunteer contribution, the crucial work of the Brotherhood would not be possible. Be the difference and apply today.
