Duck River is an urban waterway tucked away in the middle of Sydney’s western suburbs. This river system flows year-round into Parramatta River, connecting vital waterways across Sydney, and providing an important green corridor for native animals to forage and move around. You don’t have to travel too far away from civilization to be swept away in this suburban jungle. Spend a day by the riverbank, watching a myriad of waterbirds float down the river and you’ll see what all the fuss is about!

Unfortunately over time, the River has struggled to fight against the invasive plants and rubbish taking hold of the river banks.

To tackle this, the community has come together, working across 3 different sites; removing exotic weeds and scooping up the rubbish that is harming our wildlife in the area. We’re working to not only conserve Duck River and the animals and plants that call the river their home, we’re working to create a healthier and happier city!

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:

  • Make sure you book your spot online. Spaces are limited, and they do fill up!
  • We offer a free pick and drop off at a nearby Train Station for each project.
  • No previous experience is required. We will provide you with all the know-how on site.
  • We can provide you with a certificate of appreciation for coming along and helping out (this looks great on a resume!)
You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
