Parent and Family Drug Support at The Mental Health Commission

The role of the PARENT PEER VOLUNTEER is to provide telephone peer support to parents calling the service in distress about their son or daughter's drug or alcohol use. As our service provides PEER SUPPORT, It is essential you have lived experience of being a parent or guardian of a daughter or son who has had or is still having difficulties with alcohol or drug use. Expressions of interest can only be taken for those who meet this criterion.

You would be joining a well-established service with over 18 years of experience of providing peer support to distressed parents and of managing volunteers.

We are likely to hold our next round of recruitment and training in April 2020. To apply, please articulate CLEARLY that you are a PARENT who has supported a child with alcohol or drug use issues.
