We are seeking volunteers to help with our regular Beach Cleans. Each fortnight at Main Beach Byron Bay and monthly at Seven Mile Beach Broken Head, we pick up all rubbish from the same 200m section. We then document every piece of rubbish by identifying categorizing and counting. Collecting this data is valuable in quantifying the problem we are facing in the Byron Shire. The Beach Cleans take on average less than 2 hours. Gloves, bags and tools to collect the rubbish are provided. Volunteers need only bring suitable clothing to protect themselves from the elements (i.e. sun protection) and water. Volunteers should be over 16 otherwise need to be accompanied by an adult. No previous experience is required.
