The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of St George's Health Service.

Music is a wonderful gift to give. Music therapy is one of the few therapies that can cut through a person's illness or situation and create an instant state of joy and calm. Patients and staff very much enjoy music flowing through the ward and it brings a sense of satisfaction to the volunteer.

Tasks and Responsibilities: We require musical volunteers that can do one/all of the following:

• Play Piano
• Play portable musical instrument such as guitar, violin etc
• These volunteers would help entertain patients either by the bedside or in a group setting

Skills and Experience;

• We require musical volunteers who are suitably skilled in their craft and know older times music rather than modern music
• We have two pianos on site however all other instruments will need to be provided by the volunteer themselves

Commitment required: Minimum 6 months
