Stable on the Strand is a great event to be a part of and have fun together whilst sharing the Christmas message. The success of the event depends on volunteers of all ages.

Our volunteers are integral to Stable on the Strand. The enthusiasm, commitment and love shown by our volunteers is contagious.

Stable on the Strand is a place the community can EXPERIENCE the Christmas Story of the birth of Jesus by engaging with live characters in an exciting & vibrant 'Town of Bethlehem' set-up on The Strand, Townsville.

TOWN OF BETHLEHEM Participate as characters in the town of Bethlehem, including wise men, Roman soldiers, and assist with greeting people at the entrance to Bethlehem.

PRAYER AND PASTORAL CARE Be available to chat & pray with visitors, provide information. Participate in weekly prayer meetings leading up to the event.

YOUTH AND CHILDREN Oversee our children and youth as they do craft, henna, tie-dying.

ENTERTAINMENT Entertain our guests on stage, busking, be a 'Big Head, street entertainment.

SITE This includes construction for bump-in (set up) and bump out (pack down), setting up lights, electrical work, truck and forklift drivers, watering, first aid waste and recycle.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE Serve tea & coffee and Christmas cake in the Hospitality area, or cook, serve and sell, hot foods, desserts or drinks at our Strand Park Food Fair.

ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE Use your administration skills to make 'phone calls, follow up volunteers, send emails, count money, follow up sponsors write grants and organise fundraisers.

MARKETING Includes photography, videography, writing press releases, digital marketing, visiting Churches
