Talking with Aussies Volunteer - Virtual

The University of Adelaide
Logo for The University of Adelaide

Talking with Aussies (TWA) is a volunteer program to help international students improve their conversational English. Our volunteers come from a range of ages and backgrounds, and include domestic students, retirees, and working professionals. (Please note: current university international students are not eligible to apply for this role as a volunteer)

The way that TWA works is simple: we match volunteers from the community with current international students of the University of Adelaide, for one hour of one-on-one casual English conversation per week online. There are no set topics or times that you are required to meet – it’s all up to you. For international students, TWA is a valuable and memorable experience for international students to practice English, and is often a highlight of their time in Adelaide.

NOTE: In order to apply for this volunteer role, please express your interest. You will then receive an email with a link to the volunteer application form. Please fill this in and submit it. You will then be given details about the volunteer briefing session which may occur either over the phone/zoom or Skype.

Please be mindful that we will only respond to those that have submitted the online volunteer application form.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
