Volunteer Researcher (Data Research Team)
The Chase and Tyler FoundationOverview of Organisation: The Chase and Tyler Foundation (CTF) is an independent charitable organisation working to prevent deadly carbon monoxide poisoning throughout Australia. We deliver a national preventive health effort by working with stakeholders for an effective sustained investment in prevention and health promotion.
Position Description: We are seeking experienced researchers to help collect data for a number of projects. This role would suit someone familiar with research methodologies including collecting and analysing available data, published material and using local government data.
Responsible to: Team Leader (Data Research Team)
Time Commitment: The project is looking for someone that can give approximately 4 hours per week. There will be meetings (outside of business hours) in the St Kilda area which you will need to attend (in person or virtually).
Key Responsibilities: Data collection on:
- unintentional carbon monoxide poisoning deaths throughout Australia
- domestic gas heaters within Australia
- gas fitters/plumbers within in Australia
- carbon monoxide alarm effectiveness and use within Australia
- carbon monoxide research conducted in clinical settings
- government data and information
- other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team
- Solid research and analytical skills
- Strong computer literacy and capability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excels at planning, organising and prioritising
- Demonstrated initiative and a ‘can do’ approach
- Exhibits energy and enthusiasm and an interest in working in the nonprofit sector
