The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is promoting this role on behalf of Special Olympics, Melbourne Inner East.

A social media consultant is sought for this fabulous organisation. Gain experience in the not for profit sector, working with a large membership base, whilst gaining exposure to the disability sector. Use your skills to ensure we are optimizing social media opportunities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assess and address gaps in our current social media strategy
  • Update our social media strategy
  • Teach committee members how to create interesting content to be shared on social media platforms (This includes: generating, editing, publishing and sharing content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action)
  • Review and analyse social data/metrics to ensure continuous improvement and best practices

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in formulation of social media strategy
  • Highly competent in use of social media platforms including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & Team App.
  • Excellent Communication skills - verbal and written
  • Computer skills

Induction and Training:

  • Walkthrough of Special Olympics online resources
  • Walkthrough of current social media activities
  • Invited to attend some Special Olympics activities to meet and learn about the target audience
  • Invited to attend a committee meeting
