Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to join the Canine Court Companion Program at Wagga Wagga Court House. Applicants will enjoy socialising with people, have a genuine love of dogs, good dog-handling skills and an interest in animal assisted therapy. As a Therapy Dog Handler you and your therapy dog will work as a team to help provide support to potentially anxious or distressed court users. Essential: • Ability to host**a specially selected Therapy Dog full-time in your home** • Good dog-handling skills • Ability to manage a Labrador dog. • Ability to safely transport a Labrador dog. • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to commit to 1 morning per week. • Capacity to attend information and training sessions. • Working With Children Check • National Police Check .
