Our Anam Cara Aged Care Community at Bray Park is currently seeking expressions of interest for male volunteers to assist with the residents Men’s Shed. Men’s sheds are a recent grass-roots phenomena unique to Australia. They are diverse in structure and function but common in purpose; they are a space for men. A place where men can come together to sit and talk, feel comfortable, socialise, learn new skills and strengthen health and wellbeing enhancing self-esteem and decreasing social isolation. True old fashioned mateship!

As a volunteer with the Men’s shed you will be supporting residents by:

• Helping residents to regain a sense of purpose in life.
• Facilitating friendships and companionship.
• Providing support and guidance with simple tasks
• Listening to their stories and discovering their passions and interests.
• Escorting residents to and from the activity.
• Having fun!

Volunteering time for the Men’s Shed flexible between Monday to Sunday with morning or afternoon shifts available.

Anam Cara means ‘Soul Place’ and is an innovative and award winning aged care community. Residents enjoy a resort style community with expansive outdoor gardens, children’s playgrounds and BBQ areas that can be enjoyed by residents, families and friends.
