Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join its Canine Court Companion Program. Applicants will enjoy socialising with people, have a genuine love of dogs, good dog-handling skills and an interest in animal assisted therapy. As a Therapy Dog Handler you and your therapy dog will work as a team to help provide support to potentially anxious or distressed court users.

Where: Taree Court House, 85 Albert St Taree NSW When: Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays Time: 9am -10.30am Expected launch: TBA

Essential: • Good dog-handling skills • Ability to manage a Labrador dog. • Ability to safely transport a Labrador dog. • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to commit to 2 mornings per week. • Capacity to attend information and training sessions. • Working With Children Check • National Police Check • Ability to host a specially selected Therapy Dog full-time in your home.

Guide Dogs NSW/ACT will provide ongoing training and support to successful applicants.
