Healthy Ageing Support Volunteer

    Please Note: As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance)

    Due to new government legislation all persons entering a Residential Aged Care Facility as of the 1st May 2020 are required to provide evidence of having had a 2020 Flu Vaccination.

    New volunteers will also be required to undertake mandatory training applicable to your role which will be provided by ACH staff.

This role would see you work under the direction of the Personal Trainer and Therapy Aide with the aim of supporting residents to engage in exercise programs.

Exercise programs currently running are, Easymoves Exercise Groups, Balance Classes, 1:1 exercises with the Personal Trainer and a Walking Program.

You would play a key role in supporting residents to walk and assist residents to complete exercises within a supervised group run by a trained staff member.
