A not for profit organisation that provides transportation services to the frail aged, people with disabilities, their carers and people that are transport disadvantaged, are seeking Arabic speaking Volunteers to be Passenger Assistants. Volunteers will assist their clients to get to appointments, with their grocery shopping, visit a friend or on one of their social outings and have some fun meeting new people.

The Role:

• Provide assistance to clients accessing the vehicle (bus or car) and ensure safe delivery into the facility they are attending or to their own homes
• Ensure all passengers travel comfortably and safely between destinations
• Assist passengers with shopping or other baggage, including mobility aids where necessary
• Assist the Driver in providing a service that is safe and reliable
• Ensure the general welfare of clients, including reporting concerns or observations of deteriorating health issues to the Coordinator via the daily feedback sheet

Volunteer Requirements:

• Be willing to undergo a Police Check
• Provide a minimum of one reference
• Commit to one day per week (days are negotiable) 8am to 5pm
• Participate in training, development, and staff meetings as required
• Genuine, enthusiastic and caring demeanour
• Interest in developing a connection to your community

Successful Volunteers receive uniform, orientation, training, ongoing support, travel reimbursement, lunch reimbursement and other opportunities during their time of service.
