The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Access Health and Community - Hawthorn Community House.

Can you help us transport our clients from their home and back to participate in our Physiomoves program? You will need to be able to drive and have a car with comprehensive insurance. Our participants are men, mainly older than 60 years who live in the Hawthorn area.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Collect a client/s from their home, helping them participate in the group and then take the client home
  • The group is led by a physiotherapist or Allied Health assistant but participation in the program's running and development also form part of this volunteer role.

Skills and Experience:

  • The volunteer will need to be able to drive and have a car with comprehensive insurance
  • The type of assistance in the group would depend on the volunteer's own skills and interests
  • Fostering social interactions would be an important part of the role

Induction and Training;

  • Volunteers will be provided with an organisational based and role specific induction.
  • Familiarisation with their work environment, team members, program content and supervisor forms are also part of this process. - No external training is required.
