As a Citizen Advocate (supported by the Citizen Advocacy Office) you would develop and maintain an 1 on 1 relationship with a person with an intellectual disability. It will involve meeting some of the needs of the person which may include social isolation and dealing with paid services. The Citizen Advocate is supported by a Coordinator with regular contact and training as required.

The process of recruiting a Citizen Advocate and matching to a person with intellectual disability does not take place in the office but in the community where the potential citizen advocate lives and ultimately in the local community of the person to be matched , likely to be close by geographically - Chatswood, Terrey Hills Ryde and Eastwood areas. Intermediate level of English is required.
