Counselling is a key part in alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

The Community and Family Support Service (CAFSS) is delivered using a recovery framework and bio-psychosocial harm minimisation approach to create sustainable change.

Students and volunteers will undergo training in relapse and harm minimisation techniques and apply a range of techniques, interventions and referrals, tailored to the clients circumstances.

Applicants must have a caring, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.

The program is only suitable for students completing their final year in undergraduate and post graduate of health and human services disciplines

And volunteers must have qualifications in counselling.
