Entertainer for Children’s Hospital morning tea

Children's Cancer Foundation
Logo for Children's Cancer Foundation

The Children’s Cancer Foundation is seeking a creative volunteer to share their unique skill with children at a Melbourne hospital.

Held every Tuesday morning, Family Connect is a morning tea hosted by the Children's Cancer Foundation where families can meet and connect within a relaxed and fun atmosphere while their children are entertained by a volunteer with a special creative talent.

This is your opportunity to fascinate children with your own special skill, whether it be magic, circus tricks, face painting or something surprising.

While you captive young patients and their families, the Children’s Cancer Foundation team members will serve refreshments and engage with parents.

The successful candidate must: • Be available on Tuesday mornings, 10.00 am – 12.30 pm, on a regular basis (e.g. once or twice a month); • Have a recent clear Police Check and Working with Children’s Check before volunteering can begin; • Be comfortable interacting with families in a hospital setting; • Have a special creative talent to share with children and adolescents; • Have an outgoing personality; • Adhere to the Foundation’s values of Integrity, Professionalism, Collaboration, Positivity and being Family Focused; • Abide by the Foundation’s privacy and volunteering policies.

The Children's Cancer Foundation has supported children with cancer since 1992. We strive for better and less harmful treatments and believe that every child should laugh, dance, play and live as only a child can.

We rely on volunteers and pro bono support to keep our administration costs low. If you would like to be part of a great organisation that’s making a meaningful difference to children living with cancer then apply now.

To apply, click 'Express Interest' and under 'Skills and Qualifications' please outline your motivation to volunteer for us, the unique skill you will captivate children with, applicable training and performance history and your availability.

If you have any questions about the role, please email us or telephone on 03 7001 1450.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
