Packaging Volunteer

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Waverley Industries.

This is a volunteering opportunity with a major packaging company who provide supported employment opportunities for people with special needs, in particular intellectually disabled adults. Volunteers will be helping our employees. Minimum 4 hour shifts are available.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Count and pack
  • Collate materials for mail out
  • Assemble parts/package materials
  • Liaise with group supervisor to prepare work
  • Assist/instruct workers with tasks
  • Assist with quality control

Skills and Experience:

  • Friendly disposition
  • Sense of humour
  • Flexible and hardworking
  • Discreet
  • Patient
  • Literacy and numeracy are essential
  • The ability to communicate clearly is desirable
  • Ability to follow directives is essential
  • Recording basic information/form filling is also desirable
