Retail Supervisor and Merchandiser
Rotary Club of Kew, Fair Trade & Gift ShopThe Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of The Rotary Club of Kew.
Do you have retail experience, an eye for detail and skills to help meet sales goals? We have an opportunity in our Fair Trade and Gift Shop located in East Kew. You will be mixing in a fun environment, meeting like-minded people and making a difference. You will need to be available Tuesdays / Wednesdays from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers by greeting them; offering them assistance
- Advise customers by providing information on products
- Help customer make selections by building customer confidence; offering suggestions and opinions
- Provide quality customer service to prevent customer complaints
- Review pricing and identify branded goods, making recommendations initially
- Remain familiar with stock held
- Process payments by totalling purchases; processing cash and credit cards
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Enhance the Store appearance
- Maintain tidy and clean store

Induction and Training:
- Tour and interview
- Complete the volunteer registration process
- Work alongside mentor until familiar with processes
- Information provided on our new fair trade goods from developing countries
- Clear understanding of Store structure
- Information on Rotary and where the money raised goes
