A Learner Driver Mentor Program that offers supervised driver training for young people who want to obtain a driver’s licence, suffer disadvantage and do not have family support or a vehicle to assist with driving hours, is seeking Volunteer Mentors.

About The Role:

  • Mentors provide support to mentees in achieving 120 log book hours of supervised driving
  • Mentors are also positive role models, supporting their young person in achieving a significant goal
  • Time commitment of 2 hours per week for 12 months
  • Serviced and maintained vehicles provided
  • All Mentors require a Working With Children Check and Drivers Record Check and a character or professional referee
  • Interview and assessment with Organisation before commencement of role

About You:

  • A good role model with concern for the welfare of others
  • Have a genuine desire to help a young person get their licence
  • Experienced and competent driver (appropriate insurance, medical and driving record)
  • Ability to supervise a young person to drive both capably and safely
  • A full driver’s licence (minimum class C for 2 years)
  • 25 years of age, or over

Once a Volunteer Mentor has completed the necessary requirements, time is then taken to match them with an appropriate young person. This is often the most important part of the whole process, as the best possible match ensures the best possible outcome.

If this sounds like an opportunity for you, we would love to hear from you!
