Would you like to connect with and support some of our most vulnerable community members in a fun, active and engaging way? Group61 is looking across Brisbane and the Gold Coast for Social Event Coordinators to run small events and gatherings for our members.

Group61 is a mental health befriending program that connects members of our community with volunteers with the aim of reducing social isolation. Building on their initial Group61 friendship we hope our Friends will start to reconnect with their local community and start to build their own network of friends and community supports. Our Social Event Coordinators play a key role in that journey by providing safe, warm and caring spaces in which our Friends can meet new people while trying out new activities.

So whether it’s Tai Chi in the park or Book Club at the local coffee shop, sewing circles or fishing groups, if it’s something you love and want to share, if you’re open-minded and open-hearted and happy to welcome our members, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities include: • Attend the 3 step induction: information session, interview and training. • Project planning an event in liaison with the Group61 Program Coordinator. • Managing event budget. • Promoting the event. • Hosting the event. • Offering on the day support to Friends. • Coordinating event volunteers. • Event reporting.

Group61 is a lovely, welcoming and rewarding service to volunteer in, where you will meet many wonderful people and learn great new skills that may assist you both personally and professionally.
