Northam TOY Library Duty Manager

Northam Toy Library

The Northam Toy Library is a non-for-profit community organisation run by volunteer parents that allows members to borrow toys. We are the biggest Toy Library in the Avon and have hundreds of toys that are educational and help to improve children’s physical and mental skills.

The ability to borrow good quality toys give members a chance to try out toys they cannot afford to buy, can’t fit in their house or garden, or know that their children will only use for a short time.

Members include parents, carers, grandparents, day care centres and other relevant businesses. As the Duty Manager, you will be there to greet members as they come to exchange or return toys. The Toy Library uses a very simple loans program on laptop which a member will train you in before you start. You will also be trained on how to signup new members and enter new toys into the computer program. When you are not managing loans it is expected that you would clean and sort toys within the library and alert us of any broken toys. If you have skills to fix broken toys this would be a great help but is not a necessary requirement. Once trained, it is expected that you will be able to work independently on your own during the opening hours. The position is not a difficult job, but it will help immensely to continue this valuable community service.

If you're looking for something more challenging or a few extra hours you could also apply to join our committee. Meetings are generally once a school term and jobs may include assistance with fundraising, grant writing and organisation of promotional activities.

If you are only available for one of the shifts we still encourage you to apply as the position may be job shared. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply although there is no disabled access upstairs.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
