Volunteer Stamp Sorter
Australian Province Of The Society Of Jesus - Jesuit StampsThe Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of the Australian Province of the Society of Jesus - Jesuit Stamps.
Do you have attention to detail and are interested in stamps? We require a team member to help us organize and prepare postage stamps for sale. This role would suit an enthusiastic stamp collector.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Sorting donated stamps into categories, countries and themes
- Trimming stamps from envelopes
- Organising stamp albums
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of stamp collecting would be an advantage but not essential.
- Easy going personality with the ability to work with others and interact with customers.
- An orderly mind with interest in geography and history.
- Reliability, attention to detail.
- Reasonable eyesight and steady hands (working with scissors)
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks and maintain concentration.
Induction and training:
- A one on one session with the Stamp Unit Manager (approx. 1 hour) This would include an overview of the Jesuit Mission overseas charity projects and the role the stamp unit plays.
- An explanation of the service we provide to individual stamp collectors and dealers.
- Demonstration of the tasks required to prepare orderly filing within the numerous categories associated with stamp collecting.
