Knitting Group Facilitator
Unitingcare Wesley BowdenWe are looking for two volunteer to help form a knitting group based in the Bowden area. Our volunteers will help to facilitate and teach participants how to produce sensory comfort items. These items are particularly effective for a person who has restless hands and is a commonly found in people experiencing, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, Asperger’s and other mental health issues.
To be successful you should be able to: • Meet as group at least one morning per fortnight; • Demonstrate your knitting / sewing abilities; • Be able to read or design patterns to ensure the end product suits its target audience i.e. child or older person; • Be creative; and • Encourage the group to have lots of fun!
