To create a welcoming and warm environment as first point of contact for DIVRS Greet, assist or direct visitors and public members Answer all incoming calls and handle caller’s inquiries whenever possible Re-direct calls as appropriate and take adequate messages where required To facilitate appointments for visitors, working closely with rostered volunteer staff To attend to basic administrative tasks, i.e. distribute mail to appropriate staff, maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies, provide word processing and secretarial support to staff as agreed with direct line management To follow established administrative organisation procedures as per organisation requirements. DIVRS is a not-for-profit community based charitable organisation and through a variety of services provides: Resources and support to low income Darebin residents who suffer from financial stress or crisis. Our aim is to strengthen their financial independence and increase resilience. Programs and services which advance the education and skills development of disadvantaged and other Darebin residents. Promotes social inclusion and strong networks through the operation of a volunteer resource service that provides opportunities for volunteer participation in the City of Darebin. Core functions undertaken by the organisation include the provision of information, support and referral. Other services provided include, tax assistance, emergency relief, learning to drive (L2P) Programme Volunteer recruitment and placement. The organisation is governed by a Committee of Management who employs an Executive Officer to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the organisation.
