AMEP TAFE NSW Volunteer Tutor (NSW residents only)

ADULT MIGRANT ENGLISH PROGRAM (AMEP) The AMEP is funded by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs. It provides English language tuition for eligible new, adult migrants and refugees to help them learn foundation English language and settlement skills. The program supports the development of knowledge and skills that significantly improves the lives of students by providing pathways to greater social participation, employment, further study, and training.

Training to be an AMEP Volunteer Tutor. Volunteer Tutors will be trained online, using a self paced 15 hour training program. Further training will be provided regularly via online interactive workshops.

VOLUNTEER TUTOR SESSIONS Tutors meet with their allocated student for 1 hour each week in a public space such as a, TAFE Campus, library, café or park. All session times are negotiated between the Volunteer Tutor and the student and will be flexible to suit your needs.

ONGOING TRAINING AND SUPPORT The Volunteer Tutor Coordinator will support volunteer tutors through regular communication, delivering online tutor workshops, and providing training updates. TAFE NSW values all volunteer tutors’ contribution to the program, we will continue to assist and support you with your work as a Volunteer Tutor.
