Driver / Transport Volunteer
Department for Child Protection - Port LincolnVolunteer and make a difference to provide transport to children & young people to attend family visits, go to school, attend appointments & activities. Whether you want to gain a new experience or skill or simply just want to help others, you have something valuable to offer by volunteering with us. Volunteers are supported, respected & experience tasks they find rewarding to achieve positive outcomes for children & young people. Volunteers will be reimbursed for kms to & from the office.
About this Opportunity Become a volunteer with the Department for Child Protection. As a volunteer you will be supporting and assisting children. Tasks may include but not limited to:
- Transporting children or young people
- Individual or group support- helping in activities such as craft, music or outdoors
- Skill development, sharing a particular skill, how to shop for food or clothes
- Working with young people to obtain their probationary licence
We are always interested in hearing ideas for new ways our volunteers can assist. Volunteering is a two-way process. As a volunteer you are provided with:
- orientation and training with ongoing support
- reimbursement for mileage to and from the office (Government vehicles are used for volunteer tasks. Volunteers are covered by the governments volunteer's insurance)
- required to apply for a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Volunteer coordinators are able to assist with the online process for the WWCC at no cost to you.
As a volunteer we ask you to be reliable and flexible. To be available for a reasonable amount of time this may be weekly, fortnightly or monthly on weekdays &/or weekends.
