This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for history, tourism and interacting with the general public, to create a meaningful experience for visitors.

The purpose of Visitor Tour Guide positions is to ensure visitors gain the information about Ipswich's past that they seek in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.Guides provide a map of the site and offer to escort the visitors as they view displays and buildings. Where specific activities are taking place the Guide introduces visitors to the members carrying out the activities. Visitor Tour Guides must be willing to learn about the Centre and the various displays from other members, enjoy talking and sharing with people, and be aware of any safety requirements associated with displays and activities to ensure the safety of visitors. Should there be no visitors during a shift, Guides will be asked to undertake alternative duties as required. If working with students during school visits, Guides must hold a current Working with Children Blue Card. This can be applied for through the office. . The role includes but is not limited to -Greet visitors -Provide tours, highlighting exhibits -Bring history to life and create a meaningful and engaging experience for local, interstate and overseas visitors -Work in a safe manner
