Saving the iconic Nielsen Park She-Oak - Nielsen Park in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is home to one of the rarest tress of Sydney. In fact, it’s only known location is in Neilson Park itself, which runs alongside the heritage listed Greycliffe house and borders the iconic Sydney Harbour and Shark Beach. Working in conjunction with National Parks and Wildlife, we are helping to reduce the number of threats this unique plant faces. This includes undertaking various measures to reduce weed invasion in the area, habitat restoration, monitoring of the site and importantly preparing the area for controlled ecological burns. Please wear sturdy shoes/boots, long pants, and long sleeve shirts. Hats, sunscreen, and water are a must. Team size varies from 3-10 volunteers, with a free pick up and drop off from Central Station available.

A fully qualified supervisor will be there at all times to assist you in your conservation efforts as well as providing you with their extensive local knowledge.
