Drive for Life is a driver training and mentoring program that equips young people who are overcoming adversity, to obtain their drivers licence. The program removes the barriers and provides a pathway towards positive role models, developing independent life skills and improving employment prospects.

We are looking for volunteer tutors to help young people progress through the licencing process, specifically the Driver Knowledge Test and the Hazard Perception Test. Using the Road Users Handbook and other resources, you will equip them with the knowledge and confidence to pass their tests.

If you consider yourself a knowledgeable driver, calm, patient and committed, we'd love to hear from you!

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport • Patient and calm in approach to learning • Confident using computers and online learning • A high level of maturity with the capacity to demonstrate empathy • A sincere commitment to confidence and capacity building • Experience working with at-risk young people – not required but highly desired • Able to work with professional discretion and confidentiality • A respect and willingness to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army
