Come fly with me! - Wetland rehabilitation
Conservation Volunteers AustraliaThis new and exciting project is here to help restore the significant resting habitat of the critically endangered Eastern Curlew migratory shore bird. Each year these incredible birds travel more than 20,000 km (round trip) as part of their yearly migration. They breed as far north as arctic circle within Russia and North-eastern China, and make their way to the eastern shores of Australia to rest in summer. On this epic journey, these birds face risks from increasing pressures of coastal habitat loss along their migratory route, limited access to food and resting sites and even hunting. We are here to give them a helping hand.
