Foster Carer for Kittens and Cats

Pussies Galore Rescue

What is required of me as a foster carer? • A big heart to love and time to spend with your cat or kitten. • A safe secure home where your fosters can’t escape. • Your own transport, to take kitties to vet appointments. • To be able to supply food and litter. • For younger kittens, someone needs to be home to feed them more frequently. • To provide regular updates and photos of your foster to help us promote them for adoption.

How much will fostering cost? As a rescue, we cover all vet expenses including vaccinations, microchipping and desexing. We ask that carers provide for their foster cats day to day needs e.g. super premium dry food, wet food, human grade raw meat and litter. If you can provide regular flea and worming it is appreciated, if not we can assist.

How long will I have my Foster Cat? The time each cat spends in their foster home varies greatly. Some cats are only in foster for a couple of weeks, before they are adopted or able to move into the café. Some cats may be in care for several months.

What if I go away or can no longer keep my foster cat? As fostering is temporary we will always provide assistance whilst you are away or move your cat if your circumstances change. We are not able to move cats immediately, the more notice you can give us the better.

What if I fall in love with my foster? We guarantee you will fall in love, it is one of the hazards of the occupation. It can be hard to say goodbye, but there is always another cat needing your help.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
