Schoolies Volunteer (Recharge Zone)

Drug ARM (Queensland)

Over 7 days of the Gold Coast Schoolies Festival, teams of outreach volunteers operate one of the Recharge Zones, providing support to the estimated 30,000-40,000 young people attending the event. Additionally, Drug ARM volunteers assist with research, and examining drug and risk-taking behaviours at the event.

Our Recharge Zone collaborates with volunteers from Rosie’s, Scripture Union, Volunteers In Policing, Hotel Chaplaincy and Gold Coast Schoolies Support Team, as well as working closely with State Emergency Services (SES), Ambulance (QAS), Police and event organisers. The Recharge Zone provides water, information and physical/emotional support to the young people, along with assessment, general support and reconnection.
