Brisbane Relief Hub - Emergency Relief Volunteer, Fortitude Valley

Wesley Mission Queensland is currently seeking expressions of interest from people looking to give a helping hand to people in need as a volunteer within our Emergency Relief Service.

The Emergency Relief Service is part of Wesley Mission Queensland’s Brisbane Relief Hub situated at 316 St Pauls Terrace, Fortitude Valley, 4006. The service assists people in need that are experiencing financial stress, lacking basic necessities, homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Emergency Relief provides:

  • A drop in service for emergency relief offering daily lunchpacks, food hampers and approved medical scripts
  • Casework support
  • Counselling support with a financial focus
  • A range of social, lifestyle, therapeutic and psycho-educational groups including social bbqs, art, meditation, art therapy, cooking and physical activities as well as variety of health and wellbeing clinics.

Shifts are available 8:30am till 4pm, Monday to Friday. A long term commitment to the role is required.
