The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of The Salvation Army Richmond Corps (Community Support Services).

The Salvation Army Richmond Corps (Community Support Services) are seeking strong and active volunteer to assist with pick-up and delivery of orders between their partner agencies and clients.

Tasks include:

  • Pick up orders from the Brunswick Tinning Street Warehouse and deliver them to Richmond CSS
  • Pick up orders from Food Bank and other Food sources and deliver them to Richmond CSS (and the capacity to tactfully check the quality of the items before accepting)
  • Pick up orders from our partner organisations (such as St Kilda Mums) and deliver them to our clients.
  • Unpack the orders and store them safely in our Food Room/fridge.
  • Book the Community Support Services Van. The Van requires a normal drivers licence. It comes with a fuel card, & the driver may need to follow instructions for filling it with petrol.
  • Work well with our team and partner agencies.

This role is crucial in our re-positioning and development of our service. We would like to improve the quality and safety of our food parcels and if we can offer a weekly delivery of items, we can improve the health outcomes of our vulnerable clients. We also need help with picking up orders from our partner agencies and delivering them to our clients, especially parents who are fleeing Domestic Violence or people who are new to the City of Yarra.

We would like a volunteer who is able to give us feedback about their experiences (i.e. our food room is low in 'x' item or the warehouse has a great 'y' product).

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
