Inclusion Melbourne is one of the providers of the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS), funded by the Australian Government. Our Volunteers visit recipients in their home and provide companionship and friendship and reduce the effects of isolation.
Our clients are referred to us by their aged care providers and are identified as either suffering from social isolation or at risk. They have different areas of interest and conversations with them not only would provide them with much needed social interaction but also enriches your life.
Volunteer visitors may share stories, go for a stroll, listen to music or play a game. As a CVS volunteer you play a vital role in improving the quality of life of the person through ongoing companionship.
Warmth, a caring attitude, empathy, good communication skills . Reliability and a willingness to commit to at least fortnightly visits for a minimum of 12 months is important.
