Community Educator - The Pillowcase Project - Community Emergency Preparedness

    Pillowcase presenter training, induction, program training, and complete online learning modules.

  • Reimbursement

    Red Cross will arrange the renewal of your police clearance every three years.

  • Requirements
    • National Police Certificate *
    • Working with Children Check *

    Basic admin skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including email
    Good presentation and facilitation skills
    Ability to engage with children and young people
    Ability to problem solve and be flexible in the field
    Report and document all incidents or service delivery concerns in accordance with procedures
    Immediately notify State or Territory Coordinators if you cannot attend your rostered session
    Pick up/return equipment and supplies to/from Red Cross offices as needed
    Participate in training sessions
    Attend team meetings
    Some lifting of small boxes required
    Please note the cost of the Police Check and Working With Children Check is payable by the applicant

Join one of the world's largest humanitarian organisation as our Pillowcase Project Educator! Our newly recruited educator will deliver sessions about emergency preparedness in schools. You could be a teacher or a young person looking for experience, or simply a humanitarian at heart wishing to give back to the community!

DUTIES ⁻ Present one hour disaster resilience education workshops to ages 8-10 (Years 3-4) and facilitate discussion with children about emergency preparedness ⁻ Travel to schools in a designated region ⁻ Pick up/return equipment and supplies to/from Red Cross offices as needed
