Driver and Companion - Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) - Yankalilla Council - Yankalilla

    National Police Certificate required, current unrestricted licence, good communication skills, empathy with the elderly and frail. Participate in 'Volunteer Driver Induction' training.

CHSP is designed to provide transport for those residents of Yankalilla Council area who are frail and over 65 years of age or 50 years and older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their carers who are unable to obtain transport by any other means. The service is to provide transport for medical or allied health appointments only. Volunteers must hold a current and unrestricted driver's licence and must be able to read road signs/maps and street directories with a working understanding of smart phone use. Good communication skills are vital as is adherence to confidentiality.
