Join a great team of volunteers to visit elderly people in their homes to deliver clean linen and towels, change the beds and chat to elderly and vulnerable clients. Many clients have said that without this vital service they would not have been able to continue to live in their own homes. Volunteer commitment required could be as often as several times a week or as little as once a month – you decide! A reasonable level of fitness is required as you will be required to change and make a number of beds.
All volunteers go out to visit clients in pairs and quickly get to know each other, other volunteers and the clients they are working with. We especially need drivers with their own car (petrol reimbursed) to continue this service, although we also welcome anyone volunteering as an assistant to an existing driver.
All clean linen is commercially laundered. This is a fantastic opportunity to greatly improve the quality of life of vulnerable people in our community.
Minimum age is 17 years.
Benefits: Opportunity to work as part of a team of volunteers from a vast range of backgrounds - get to know others from the local
