What does friendship mean to you??

Citizen Advocacy
Logo for Citizen Advocacy

At Citizen Advocacy we identify individuals with intellectual disability without a supportive network of family or friends – perhaps only paid support in their lives. We find out about their circumstances, and what would enhance their lives.

We then carefully match them with a volunteer citizen advocate. Each role is different but may include being friend, spokesperson, role model, ally or mentor, enabling the individual with disability to achieve goals, reach their potential, expand their horizons and hopefully have some fun with a true friend.

We want this connection to work for both parties – you and the person with disability. So we do not put any pressure on if you were to make an enquiry. We would find out how much time you have available and what your interests are in order to get the right fit. We want this to be a win:win.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Due to the intended long term nature of our positions, we are unable to recruit to provide for course credits or Centrelink requirements.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
