Cape to Cape Catchments Group changed its name to Nature Conservation Margaret River Region or Nature Conservation for short.

Nature Conservation provides a range of rewarding volunteering activities to allow community members and visitors to the region to give something back to the environment. Our volunteering activities include field activities such as tree planting and other foreshore and bushland restoration activities, conservation action to protect threatened fauna species and coast care activities such as beach clean ups and dune restoration work.

Citizen science programs are also available which allow interested community members assist us to collect data on local flora and fauna. Examples of these programs include the annual Possum Tally and the Great Cocky Count. These program increase our environmental understanding of our region and allow us to better design conservation programs.

If you are not interested in outdoor environmental volunteering we also have occasional requirements for suitably skilled volunteers to assist in our offices or to help out at events.

What to Bring: A water bottle; long trousers and sturdy shoes; hat; wet/cold weather gear if necessary; a camera if you like, a sense of humour! Morning tea and all equipment will be provided.

Children and Young People: We welcome children and young people however not all worksites or tasks will be safe for your child. Please let us know in advance if you wish to bring young children with you and understand that all children under 14 must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Nature Conservation cannot accept any liability for children under the age of 5, but we encourage parents with small children to join us in whatever capacity is comfortable – an hour or two of volunteering is far better than none!

Volunteers will be called upon on an irregular basis in accordance with seasonal demand.

Insurance: The Nature Conservation insurance policy covers volunteers whilst they are engaged in group activities including direct uninterrupted travel to and from group activities
