Human Rights Community Visitor Volunteers
Office of the Public AdvocateCommunity Visitors perform an important role of upholding the human rights of people with a cognitive disability and/or mental illness who are residing in supported care. They monitor and report on the adequacy of services provided. Community Visitors talk to the residents and/or patients and staff to identify issues of concern. They visit in pairs within their region. At the time of the visit, a brief report is written in regard to any issues of concern and any good practices noted.
