A Community Arts Centre is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Volunteers for their Children’s Festival. All Volunteers receive a Festival T-Shirt, a Volunteer Pass, a certificate of participation and lunch (if you volunteer for a whole day).

The Roles:

  • Planning, administration and programming leading up to the Festival
  • Guide to groups and patrons
  • Workshop assistant
  • General enquiries
  • Encouraging participant engagement
  • Monitoring of exhibition spaces
  • Theatre & usher support
  • Technical team support
  • Pre-Festival set up and bump-in
  • Post-Festival pack-down and bump-out
  • Volunteers are needed for the five Festival days - Wednesday 10th July, Thursday 11th July, Friday 12th July, Saturday 13th July and Sunday 14th July – as well as days either side for set and pack up
  • Various shifts are available: 8am to 1pm, 12pm to 5pm or all day if you have the time to give

Volunteer Qualities:

  • Be of working age at the start of the festival (14 years and 9 months)
  • If over 18 you must be willing to have a Working with Children Check
  • Attend a compulsory briefing and induction session
  • Skills or interest in facilitating workshops for children, child care, event management or crafts is a bonus, but not essential
  • Bright, cheery, upbeat and fun-loving disposition
