We are looking for friendly individuals who enjoy the outdoors, helping others and participating in a team environment. If you have some time to help out, we would love to hear from you.

Samford RDA needs volunteers to assist with the following tasks: • Preparing horses prior to riders’ arrival (grooming and saddling) • Leading horses during riding sessions • Assisting during riding sessions – sidewalking with riders • Assisting Coaches with equipment for games and riding sessions • Maintaining of equipment and horse paddocks

You don’t have to know anything about horses to help. You will be trained and valued – and you’ll find working at Samford RDA both rewarding and fun.

Please note that it is mandatory for all volunteers to attend a formal Induction training session prior to assisting with the classes or the horses. The dates for training sessions are posted on our Facebook page and website as they are announced. Contact us for further details.

Please note also that currently the minimum age to volunteer is 14 years. A Blue Card is required but Samford RDA can assist you in applying for this.

Volunteers are needed: • Tuesdays (from 4 pm) • Wednesdays (8.00am to 1pm) • Fridays (7.00am – 2pm) • Saturdays (7.00am – 2pm) (except on school/public holidays)

You can choose a day (or days!) to suit you, and you can come for an hour or two or the whole session. Any time you can spare would be greatly appreciated.

Samford Riding for the Disabled (RDA) is a voluntary and not-for-profit organisation, which provides both therapeutic and recreational horse riding programs for children and adults with disabilities.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
