Working Bees Volunteers- Environment

Friends of Montmorency Bushlands

Our group needs more volunteers for our monthly activities.

Would suit residents of Montmorency and neighbouring suburbs (Briar Hill, Lower Plenty, Eltham, Greensborough and Rosanna).

If you enjoy working in the open air close to nature and want to make a practical contribution to your natural environment, then you are welcome to join us.

This position also provides good learning opportunities for students of Environment Science and related studies. Several of our volunteers have gone on to pursue careers in bushland management, conservation and more in this field.

New volunteers are given instructions in planting, weeding etc and learn first hand about indigenous flora and fauna and re-vegetation.

Light work involved, including Planting, weeding, watering, seed collecting etc all under instructions from the Council Bush Crew.

No experience or special skills required as instructions are given to new volunteers.

We also enjoy nature photography, plant ID, bird watching and hold an annual excursion to see other conservation projects.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
