This is a unique opportunity to volunteer at one of Australia's grandest rural colonial estates set in 7 hectares of beautiful riverside parklands. This Georgian country mansion with Italianate facade and servants' quarters has a heritage walled garden, farm outbuildings, a rare avenue of Elms, and is also home to the Australian Fly Fishing Museum, Costume Museum and the Norfolk Plains Heritage Centre.
Do you enjoy engaging meeting new people and have a keen interest in design and craft?
Design Tasmania are looking for volunteers to provide front of house services - introducing visitors to our iconic galleries, temporary exhibitions and the Design Tasmania Wood Collection. Other duties may include supporting workshops and events, guided tours of the exhibitions, processing of entry fees, catalogues and other items.
The Deloraine & Districts Folk Museum is co-located with the Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre at 98-100 Emu Bay Road, Deloraine. It focuses on the horse drawn era and our early pioneering history. The Family & Commercial Inn is set up as it may have looked in 1864 when it was the local ale house. The museum is housed in an award winning garden with a Pioneer Walk where you can view reproduction and reclaimed buildings showcasing the lives, tools and farming equipment of our early settlers.
