The facilitator of a pain support group (PSG) helps the group to: share their experiences of living with chronic pain, educate the group about self-management techniques and to effectively use healthcare settings. The PSG provides an avenue for people with pain to socialise with others and reduce the isolation of chronic pain. The group meets once a month for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Canteen works closely with many community organisations that share a similar client base. These agencies and Canteen share referrals to ensure that young people receive targeted support, appropriate to their needs. This investigative role will perform desktop research to identify all Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) community organisations throughout Tasmania.

The most important attributes required for this position are patience and excellent spoken communication skills. A basic understanding of digital technologies is all that is needed--if you can use a smart phone or tablet for personal use and have enough patience to show someone else then you have what it takes and we can teach you the rest.
