Volunteers help to maintain our koala food tree plantations. Tasks include: - Pruning trees - Mulching around trees - Planting trees - Wheelbarrowing mulch to plants - Brush cutting (optional) Need to have moderate level of fitness and able to work in all weather conditions.
Nursery workers determine varieties and quantities of trees and shrubs and follow planting and care schedules. In the greenhouse they prepare the beds and plant the seedlings. As the plants grow and develop, workers must prune, weed, and water them.
Leaf Harvesters are responsible for collecting daily food requirements for koalas in care. Minimum 2 - 3 hours per shift either weekly or fortnightly depending on day. Must be available long term (minimum 6 months).
