St John Ambulance ACT is a not for profit self-funded community based organisation that has a goal of making first aid a part of everybody's life. Our community education program provides free basic first aid information sessions to Primary School Children across the ACT.
Want to help care and maintain your local neighborhood urban parks and places? Urban Parks and Places Volunteering is a partnership between the local community and the ACT Government. The program enables the Canberra community to assist with the maintenance and care of local public spaces. There are currently 35 urban volunteer groups that help out in these areas. People can join one of the existing or interested community members can apply to start a new group.
CBR NightCrew volunteers are essential to the delivery of the CBR NightCrew program which provides support to intoxicated and vulnerable people in Civic on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The program aims to minimise the risk of alcohol-fuelled violence and assist people to get home safely. In doing so, the CBR NightCrew program helps fulfill St John ACT’s commitment to provide community care solutions in the service of humanity. Volunteers work as part of a team 9.30pm to 4am.
